Conference tomorrow for nonprofits and submissions due June 20th
Below follows an excerpt fowarded in the email from Dan Woo of CA Dept of Pub Health:
FYI, in short, the Governor's Office of Planning & Research - Office of Community Partnerships & Strategic Communications (OCPSC) has been working with the CA Dept. of General Services (DGS) to make it easier for State agencies to contract with a "trusted network" of community-based nonprofits, to support our various community outreach and education efforts across State government. This originally came from a recognition that many of our State agencies want/need to engage with communities – but the contracting process often posed many administrative and procedural barriers for trusted CBO/community partners to work with State government.
Through this Invitation for Bid (IFB), any relevant community-based nonprofit is encouraged to submit a bid to be a part of the State's list of pre-approved nonprofits the State (and local governmental) agencies can contract with for outreach and engagement services. I believe as part of this Master Service Agreement (MSA), there will also include mechanism(s) for these nonprofits to distribute funds to compensate community stakeholders for any services/subject matter expertise provided to inform State efforts (as an example of one of the benefits of this MSA).
In any case, please share widely via your respective networks with any community-based nonprofit partners who might be a good fit / interested!
Please note that the Bidder's Conference is fast-approaching on June 6, 10am.
Again, more info below – and please feel free to reach out to Nicole.Rivera@opr.ca.gov with any questions.
