I've built my career on telling Southern California stories no one else has told, or taking unique angles on stories everyone knows. The culmination of those two threads is in Gustavo's Great Tortilla Tournament, which we are in the middle of right now and will conclude on October 8th with a live tasting at Smorgasburg LA.

In case you've never heard of my #tortillatournament, think of a sports-style bracket competition with 64 tortillas — 32 corn, 32 flour — from Ojai to Coachella, Sylmar to Chula Vista, fighting for the Golden Tortilla trophy and the Chiquihuite Cup. It's a celebration of food, heritage, and SoCal history that could only come from a mind as nerdy as mine.
