FYI.
SB 43 just passed the assembly a couple of days ago. The Consumer-Run
Organizations are opposed to this "expansion of Gravely Disabled" as it
strips consumer civil rights and makes courts and judges have an easier
time forcing people into hospitalization and conservatorship against
their will. I will be sending more info on this issue, as well as on
Care Court and the Modernization Act of Behavioral Health from
Governor Gavin Newsome.

SB 43 expands the definition of “grave
disability,” making it much easier to involuntarily commit people to
locked facilities for behavioral health reasons.
SB 43 was heard in Assembly Health Committee on June 27, 2023.
